Exclusive guitar and bass designs by Andrew Newton:
The hand-carved archtop and angled neck of the Spirit guitar make it very comfortable to play and lend it a classic good looking appearance. With the neck glued into the body and extending well into the pickup recess, the tone is warm and the sustain full and long. Mahogany and maple are the woods most commonly used for the Spirit and vintage-style humbuckers or P-90 pickups are the immediate choice to draw out the best of its full sound.
The NX Series exploits the simplicity of a flat body and a bolt-on neck to allow a wide range of design options. The most popular woods are swamp ash for the body and maple for the neck. The NX guitar design accommodates any number of body, bridge and pickup combinations and therefore allows for many sound styles, from classic to unique.
The Crossbow Bass is a versatile design with terrific tone and sustain, and is surprisingly light and comfortable. The long neck, made of maple and mahogany, extends beyond the fretboard into the body, to ease access to the highest frets. The body, usually made of swamp ash or mahogany, can be fitted with many types of pickups, preamps, and EQs, to further individualise the excellent tonal qualities of this attractive instrument.
By exploiting various guitar building methods to produce fundamentally different basic sound styles, and combining these with specific electronic components and carefully chosen pickups (even winding them myself, if necessary), I can offer a rich spectrum of high-quality sounds and versatile instruments.
And by defining, with you, the individual parameters that best fit your playing style, I am able to develop an instrument uniquely built just for you.
